The Montreal Canadiens signed Jacques Martin as their head coach today. Martin, 56, is leaving his previous job as a GM of the Florida Panthers. He is replacing Canadiens GM Bob Gainey, who took over after Guy Carbonneau was fired on March 9th. His contract runs through the 2011-2012 season.
