With the return of Martin Brodeur, Scott Clemmensen has been sent down to the Lowell Devils of the American Hockey League. Brodeur had missed the last four months of the regular season with an elbow injury sustained in a November 1, 2008 game against the Atlanta Thrashers. Brodeur, who will start tonight on Thursday against the Colorado Avalanche, has gone 6-2-2 this season so far with a 2.16 GAA and a save percentage of 0.916.

Clemmensen played well in place of Brodeur, going 25-13-1 in the NHL with a 2.39 GAA. The 31-year old from Des Moines, Iowa has stopped 91.7% of all shots faced.

Scott Clemmensen has earned his second consecutive shutout as the New Jersey Devils defeated the Boston Bruins by a score of 1 to 0 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Bryce Salvador scored the only goal of the game 10:54 into the second period.

Scott Clemmensen made 27 saves en route to his first shutout in almost five years. With a 3-0 win over the New York Rangers, the red hot New Jersey Devils improve to 34-17-3 on the season. The Rangers, who have lost their last five games, fell to 29-20-5 on the year.

The 17,625 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey witnessed Bobby Holik score the first goal of the game in the second period with assists coming from Brendan Shanahan and Patrik Elias. Zach Parise scored a minute-and-a-half later on the power play with assists from Travis Zajac and Jamie Langenbrunner. After two periods, New Jersey led 2 to 0.

Parise would find the empty net late in the third period to seal the shutout for Clemmensen. Zajac and Langenbrunner also assisted on the last goal by Parise.
