In the bottom of the seventh inning of Wednesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter tied the franchise record for hits with his 2,721 overall. The hit ties the record, held by Hall of Fame first baseman Lou Gehrig.
