The Adelaide Crows completed their undefeated preseason with a 34-point victory over the West Coast Eagles at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night. The Crows defeated the Eagles 2.10.17 (95) to 2.5.13 (61) and won the NAB Cup for the first time since 2003.
Adelaide’s Bernie Vince won the Michael Tuck Medal, which is given to the best player of the NAB Cup Grand Final, just days after wearing nothing but boxer shorts in a pub. Taylor Walker kicked three goals, including a Super goal, for the Crows and took eight marks in the match.
West Coast held a six-point lead at quarter time thanks to Super goals from Mark Nicoski and Josh Hill. However, missed opportunities afterwards enabled the Crows to overtake the Eagles and pull away for the win. Hill had eight shots for goal, but six of them went for behinds. To add injury to insult, Nicoski injured his hamstring shortly after he kicked the Super goal.
Adelaide’s Matthew Jaensch booted the other Super goal for the Crows.
