Lots of stuff to look for in the final hour, so here we go!
-The Los Angeles Dodgers have completed the most controversial of all trades thus far, sending the talented and young second baseman Blake DeWitt to the Chicago Cubs in return for lefty Ted Lilly and infielder Ryan Theriot.
-Why is this deal wracking up so much heat? Lilly is just 3-8 this season, and has been rather inconsistent. In addition, Theriot comes in with a .284 average, but just 21 runs batted in to support it.
-SI’s Jon Heyman just told MLB Network that he anticipates Nationals slugger Adam Dunn to end up in Chicago. He did claim he had doubts, but at the same time, also expressed that White Sox GM Kenny Williams is “anxious” to get the deal done.
-Meanwhile, Ken Rosenthal is reporting that in a potential Dunn deal, the White Sox would send over the newly-acquired Edwin Jackson to Washington.
-In addition, Buster Olney suggests that the Yankees may make one more push for a reliever or a utility player.
