Mike Leach, head coach of the Big 12′s Texas Tech Red Raiders, has been suspended from coaching his players in the 2010 Valero Alamo Bowl. This was caused by a complaint from one of Leach’s players and his parents.
Texas Tech University told the media in a release that, “complaints are considered as serious matters, and as a result, an investigation of the incident is underway. The investigation into this matter will continue in a thorough and fair manner.”
Texas Tech defensive coordinate Ruffin McNeil will serve as the interim head coach for the Red Raiders in their bowl game against the Michigan State Spartans.
This complaint was considered a personnel matter, and the school refused to comment any more on the matter. As far as the public knows, Mike Leach treated a player’s injury in the wrong way. Thus forcing the player to tell the school, which led to Leach’s suspension.
The Red Raiders will kick off against the Spartans at 9:00 PM EST on January 2, 2010.
