Ochocinco Won’t Wear Henry’s Jersey

Chad Ochocinco has done a lot of silly things that has gotten him numerous fines over the course of his NFL career. This time, however, he was on the verge of getting fined for doing something commendable.

Either way, we won’t be seeing Chad Ochocinco wearing Chris Henry’s #15 jersey on Sunday; instead, he will say with number ocho cinco, 85, when the Chargers play host to the Bengals.

“It’s becoming more of a distraction for myself and my team,” said Ochocinco. “Chris wouldn’t want it to go the way it is.

“It can turn into a big negative if we don’t perform the way we should. I’ll have his jersey in hand throughout the entire game. His jersey is also 4 times bigger than my normal one.”

Ochocinco had considered wearing #15 during Sunday’s game, but the NFL would have fined him. While the NFL Players Association would have reimbursed Ochocinco for his fines, NFL rules also prohibit that. Instead, the NFLPA was planning to donate whatever Ochocinco’s fine would have been to a memorial fund for Chris Henry, but that would also have been illegal under NFL rules.

Another case of the NFL being the “No Fun League”.
