Anthony Calvillo completed 19 of 28 passes for 170 yards, throwing touchdown strikes to Ben Cahoon and Avon Cobourne. Former University of Florida quarterback Chris Leak backed up Calvillo because second-string quarterback Adrian McPherson was injured; on Leak’s first play as an Alouette, he threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Kerry Watkins.
Montreal ended up winning the game by a score of 34 to 25. With this win, the Alouettes improved to 7-1 on the season while the Roughriders fell to 4-4. Saskatchewan has won just two games in its last eleven visits to Montreal.
Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant went 19-of-31 for 326 yards, throwing touchdown strikes to Gerran Walker and Rob Bagg. However, he threw three interceptions: two to Matthieu Proulx, and one to Chip Cox. Proulx now has four interceptions on the season.
Montreal’s Larry Taylor scored the first touchdown of the game on a 68-yard punt return.
Ben Cahoon has now caught at least one pass in 117 consecutive games, the 4th longest streak in CFL history.
