Fedorov Leaves NHL To Play In Russia

It was announced today by the Continental Hockey League club, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, that they have signed pending unrestricted free agent, Sergei Fedorov to a two year deal.  The move allows Fedorov to go back to his home country and play with his younger brother, Fedor.

In 18 NHL seasons, Fedorov has played 13 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings and split time in the last 5 years between the Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets and most recently, the Washington Capitals.

Fedorov has scored 483 goals and collected 1179 points in 1248 career games. Fedorov has three Stanley Cups, all with Detroit, one-time NHL MVP and two-time Selke trophy winner (Best defensive forward).
