Yankee Stadium Demolition Update 5/14

Yes, it has begun.  Thanks to photos from our friends at Sliding Into Home, it can now be seen.

Just weeks after the removal of the outfield wall and grass, true demolition has begun with the removal of the seats.  A few days ago, it was announced via Major League Baseball that Yankee Stadium seats will be being sold at up to $1500 for a random pair of seats.  For an extra $500, one can customize which seats from what section they would like to buy.

Just to put things into perspective, Shea seats were sold for $869.  Talk about inflation due to association!

Below some pictures can be seen of the seat removal.  I will continue delivering updates throughout the demolition process, which is expected to continue into 2010.  Make sure you keep checking out Sliding Into Home for continuous updates of stadium demolition as well.
