Question of the Day: May 7
Checking my youtube channel for new messages in my inbox, I see one new message from my friend. It went a little something like this:
Speaking of refs, I was watching the Wings/Ducks game, and it looks like the Wings got screwed over as the referee blew the whistle because he thought the puck was stuck under Hiller. The puck was actually still moving, and the Wings scored. It sounded like the whistle was blown after the goal was scored.
After a few messages back and forth, I checked out the clip and took a look at the play myself. If you haven’t seen the play, watch it here:
Even though the puck was actually in the net at the time the whistle was blown, referee Brad Watson claimed that he intended to blow the whistle shortly before Marian Hossa scored the goal.
Given the other reffing controversies in the NHL e.g. Chad LaRose’s “no goal” in Game 2 against Boston or Brooks Laich’s goal on Martin Gerber, do you think there is something wrong with referees in the NHL today?
While my friend and I were talking about the incident, we reflected upon an NFL football game in which Ed Hochuli essentially handed the game to the Denver Broncos in a Week 2 AFC West matchup against the San Diego Chargers. Compare and contrast the two controversies. Which was worse?

Glad to see question of the day still going on! and i couldnt pick which one is worse cause if the wings come back to win this series houchili’s is the worse but if they lose this series i dont know what i would do
