So far, the NHL Winter Classic has been in Buffalo, and Chicago. Now, the NHL has set its sights on Fenway Park in Boston.
As rumored in Fridays Hockey section of USA TODAY, and on the Boston Globes website, the next Winter Classic will be between the Boston Bruins and either the Philadelphia Flyers, or the Washington Capitals. We are still waiting for a confirmation of the event, but this looks like a surreal place for the next NHL Classic on January 1st of 2010.

In 2008, the event was brought about with the Pittsburgh Penguins facing off against the Buffalo Sabres at Ralph Wilson Stadium.  In 2009, the game had been rumored to occur at the ill-fated Yankee Stadium.  However, it was decided upon another baseball staple, that being Wrigley Field in Chicago.  Fitting with tradition, the Chicago Blackhawks took on the Detroit Red Wings in a hockey blood bath.

As mentioned before, only one can speculate as to where it will be, though Fenway seems to be the way to go with this one.
