Dallas Downed in the King’s Court
The Dallas Mavericks are still trying to find themselves, but time is running out in the season. Losing the Cavaliers 102-74 will definitely not help Dallas. Something about the Mavericks seems to be out of place, oh wait I know! CONSISTENCY! The Mavericks, once gain, blew a 15 point lead to eventually get beat by 28 points in Cleveland. The Mavericks let 5 Cavaliers score in double figures, which would turn in to the Cavalier’s 12th straight win (a franchise record.)
Of course King James had a solid day; Lebron put up 24 points, 12 assists, and 6 rebounds. The Big Z, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, also put in 14 points and 9 rebounds. An exceptional day for the dynamic duo. Cleveland simply outplayed the Mavericks in about every statistic. The Cavs out rebounded Dallas by 10 boards, stole the ball from the Mavericks 8 times, and went 15-19 from the free throw line. It was just one of those days.
Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki had a team-high 20 points and 7 rebounds. Also, Erip Dampier and Jason Terry had both 10 points. Dallas lead early, but it faded slowly as the Cavaliers attacked and didn’t let up for the rest of the game. Dallas drops to 43-30, and Cleveland claims its 60th win of the season. Though the Mavericks may catch their breath with a game against the Minnesota T’Wolves on Tuesday. But Cleveland will battle it out with Detroit at home on Tuesday.
