Washington Capitals 4 Florida Panthers 2

Mike Green saw his goal-scoring streak come to an end at eight consecutive games. However, that didn’t stop the Washington Capitals from finding another W against the Florida Panthers. Behind a hat trick from Alexander Ovechkin, the Capitals defeated the Panthers by a score of 4 to 2 in front of 17,279 at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.

With this win, Washington improves their record to 36-16-5 while Florida fell to 28-20-8.

Eric Fehr also scored for Washington thirty seconds into the third period. Fehr has now scored in four consecutive games.

Michael Frolik and Nathan Horton scored for Florida. However, it wasn’t enough as the Panthers lost in regulation for only the 4th time since New Year’s Day.
