Houston Rockets G Tracy McGrady announced on his website that he will undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee. McGrady said earlier this season that his knee was still not fully recovered from the off-season, and now needs surgery. McGrady reportedly did not inform the team of his decision, angering coach Rick Adelman.
McGrady, as reported on Monday by Jon Alba, was rumored to potentially be traded to the New Jersey Nets in a deal involving Vince Carter prior to the news that he would miss the rest of the season. McGrady will make over $21 million next season, which is the final season of his contract. He will turn 30 this May.
