Bart Scott Sign With Jets

On Friday, New York Jets and free agent linebacker Bart Scott announced they have agreed to a 6 year $48 million deal. Scott had rejected the Jets previous offer of 5 years for $40 million.

A big part of this signing may have been that the Jets new head coach is Rex Ryan who was Scott’s defensive coordinator last season in Baltimore. Scott played 7 seasons with the Ravens complieling 433 tackles and 16 sacks. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in ’06. This leaves the Ravens needing to sign free agent Ray Lewis who has also been linked to the Jets.
