Shanahan’s Career Goes Full Circle: Rejoins New Jersey Devils

After waiting for months to see if the New York Rangers could make room to bring him back in, Brendan Shanahan had no choice but to move on and talk to other teams.

The decision was made yesterday for Shanahan to rejoin New Jersey, the team that originally drafted, but still no word on the contract. Shanahan played the first four years of his career in the swamp before being traded to the Blues.

Shanahan has started skating in New Jersey and it is not known when he will actually join the team as New Jersey is playing their second game of a six game road trip tonight against the Anaheim Ducks.

Shanahan, 39, had 23 goals and 23 assists in 73 games last season. At this point in his career, he will able to provide strong leadership and be a secondary scoring option in New Jersey.
