Getting it Dunn in Boston?

Could Adam Dunn be headed to Boston? Multiple reports have the Red Sox contacting Dunn’s agent. So far a deal seems like a long shot but Dunn could provide protection for David Ortiz. Dunn has hit over 40 homers in the past 5 years and is the epitome of a power threat.

Though his defense is not spectacular, Boston would make this move to counter the Yankees’ signing of power hitter Mark Teixeira, as the Sox are always trying to one up their rivals and the reverse. However, there is not a clear spot for Dunn on the Red Sox roster. The most logical situation would have Kevin Youkilis moving to 3rd, and Boston departing with fan favorite Mike Lowell, who is under contract for 2 more years. More news to come when available.

  1. He’s a really good hitter, especially if he could get his contact better, but i dont think Boston has enough space.
