Norway Loses Medal From Beijing Olympics

Norwegian rider Tony Andre Hansen cost his bronze medal winning team their medal after it has been found out that the horse that he used was positive for a banned substance in the Olympics. The substance is capsaicin, a banned pain relieving drug. Hanson has also been banned from equestrian jumping for four and a half months.

In the team equestrian event for the Olympics, it was a four-rider team with the top three scores counting. Since Hanson is now disqualified, the combined scores dropped Norway out of medal contention.

The podium for the event now looks like:

Gold: United States (Wins Jumpoff)

Silver: Canada

Bronze: Switzerland
