Lance Armstrong announced earlier this year that he would come out of retirement, and he has now announced that he will ride in the 2009 Tour de France. Armstrong, who was diagnosed with cancer in 1996 and amazingly survived, accomplished an even more stunning feat, winning 7 consectutive Tour de France titles from 1999-2005. Armstrong hasn’t ridden in the Tour de France since his last victory in ’05. He will try to acheive his 8th career first place finish in the 96th annual Tour de France that will kick off on Independence Day in Monaco.
