Breaking News: Dodger Make First Manny Offer

by Jon Alba on Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

As expected, the Los Angeles Dodgers have made an offer to retain free agent Manny Ramirez.  According to my sources from the GM Meetings, we are being told it is valued at 2 years worth about $50 million with a team option worth $25 million.

Manny’s agent Scott Boras stated Manny would like at least a 6 year deal, worth much more than the Dodgers current offer.  If this does stand, it is likely Manny will walk by November 14th.

thats 75 mill. over 3 years basically if they accept the option right? btw we need to think about more important things. like Canada and their hinting at a possible disaster

he should take it , not sure if get better offer and be shocked if anyone gives him 6 years based on last years antics

i think if the Dodgers really want to Manny than they need go to at least 4 years. Though $25 million a year is good, Scott Boras will want at least a 4 year contract for his client
