As everyone knows, the Yankees are not in the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. Yes, it was inevitable that the dynasty had to end just like the World Series run of 98-00. However, with no Yankees to watch in the Fall Classic, let this Yankee fan help others out and give you suggestions to what you should do with all this extra time.
Start Watching Football- For those who usually spend their Octobers in Yankeeland, this would be the perfect time to tune into the NFL season. Only 4 weeks into the season, we have had some crazy things happen. Take the Pats playing without Brady. Or perhaps the Titans, Bills, and Giants all being 3-0. Al Davis finally grew a pair to fire Lane Kiffen and replace him with another mystery coach ( Who the hell is Tom Cable?). Yes folks, it has been one wild and wacky season so far and I’m sure there are lots more surprises that will happen before this one is over. Also, maybe your Fantasy football team could use a roster update. Maybe this year your extra week or two of focus could lead you to win your league this year.
Root for the Ex-Yankee- Yes, while the Yankess playoff streak has ended, we can all still watch in amazement as ex-Yankee Joe Torre will lead a squad into the playoffs for the 14th straight year in a row (led by who else an ex-Red Sox). While the Dodgers are not the Yankees by any means, I see no reason why I can’t root for someone who has brought so much success to one great franchise and watch him try to replicate with another. Besides that fact, how sweet would it be to watch old Joe beat the Red Sox in the Fall Classic as he stops the Red Sox from trying to repeat?
Watch the Knicks collapse… before the season starts- Yes folks, your Knicks may have a new coach, new GM, and the same old Alan Houston, but they still have their same old Star(bury). Already before the season starts, Marbury has been defiant of new coach Mike D’Antoni’s system by saying that, “From what I’ve seen, he allowed Steve Nash to dribble the ball for 22 seconds…Im not that type of player”. In his spare time from bashing on his new coach, Marbury has stated that he is launching his own website StephonMarburytv.net, where you can watch even more of Starbury’s highlights (or lack thereof), interviews, and game recaps. Im sure when you have a break from work, or school, or anything of value, you will waste your time watching his new site.
If none of these options excite you however, you can count down the days to Spring Training only a few months away.

Or root for the Sox, because they are going to once again capture a championship.
haha well this was a self help guide for the depressed yankee fans out there. we’d rather fire everone in the front office and give away all our players before we’d succomb to the likes of rooting for the sox
