Dodgers Clinch NL West

by Jon Alba on Thursday, September 25th, 2008

With a 12-3 loss vs. the Cardinals, the Arizona Diamondbacks were eliminated from playoff contention.  Thus meaning, Joe Torre’s Dodgers have clinched the NL West.  That means the only divisions without a winner remain the NL East, NL Wild Card, and the AL Central (the AL East and Wild Card will either be held by the Red Sox or Rays).

And with that, Joe Torre will try to do something next year that the Yankees were unable to do this year: make the playoffs for the 14th straight year.
