After what may have been arguably the tightest race of the whole Olympic games, Michael Phelps captured his record-tying 7th Gold Medal. He defeated Serbia’s Cavic by one hundredth of a second in the 100m Butterfly. His finishing time was 50.58, while Cavic’s was 50.59.

Phelps headed into the turn trailing, but finished in the final reach to tie Mark Spitz for the most Gold Medals of all-time. More to come later.
