Nadal ends Federer’s five title win streak
Today was the riveting final of Wimbledon – Rafael Nadal versus Roger Federer. The end result – Nadal takes Federer’s crown.
Nadal started the match clearly and quickly taking the advantage, winning the first two sets 6-4. Yet Federer’s won in the third set, winning the tie breaker and finally beating Nadal 7-6. The fourth set was possibly one of the most testing of both these excellent players. It was yet another tie breaker, one that went on quite long.
Nadal started out with the clear upper hand, but grew exhausted as the match wore on. When the score was 2-5, Federer had an excellent comeback, partially due to the double fault by Nadal. Both players were clearly tired, yet Federer’s endurance proved helpful, winning him the set.
The final set was won by Nadal, 9-7, ending Federer’s five win streak. This win was well deserved – by both players. It was a 4 hour and 48 minute test of endurance, skill and speed, and Nadal proved the better of the two.
